Invisibility Cloak, Wavelet Theory, and James Webb in the Running for Physics Nobel

This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics could go to breakthroughs in wavelet theory (used in image compression), invisibility cloak research, or the physics behind the James Webb Space Telescope. Experts also name quantum information, metamaterials, and the atomic force microscope as contenders. Belgian, French, British, and global scientists, including Ingrid Daubechies and John Pendry, are among the speculative frontrunners.
