Karnataka HC Puts Summons on Hold, Stays ED’s Move to Call Congress MLA’s Lawyer
The Karnataka High Court has stayed the Enforcement Directorate’s summons to advocate Anil Gowda, legal consultant for Congress MLA K.C. Veerendra (aka “Puppy”), in a money-laundering probe tied to alleged online and offline betting. Justice Sachin S. Magadum ruled the order holds until the Supreme Court settles the question of how far the ED can summon lawyers.
