China has introduced Manus AI, an advanced autonomous agent capable of executing multi-step workflows and accessing authoritative data sources via APIs. Co-founded by Yichao 'Peak' Ji, known for creating the Mammoth mobile browser, Manus AI represents a significant advancement in AI autonomy, building upon the country's earlier success with DeepSeek, a rival to OpenAI's GPT-4. Ji describes Manus as "the first general AI agent" with the potential to address real-world problems.
