Meta Embarks on Fourth AI Shakeup in Six Months to Turbocharge AGI Push
Meta is initiating its fourth AI restructuring within just six months, splitting its Superintelligence Labs into four focused units—TBD Lab, Products, Infrastructure, and the Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) lab. The overhaul follows staff departures and lukewarm response to its Llama 4 model. CEO Mark Zuckerberg aims to accelerate progress toward artificial general intelligence, backed by a $29 billion data center financing and a raised annual capex forecast of $66–72 billion.
