Meta Removes ICE-Tracking Facebook Page Following DOJ Intervention
Meta has taken down a Chicago-based Facebook group that tracked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities, following outreach from the U.S. Department of Justice. Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that the group was used to "dox and target" ICE agents, violating policies against coordinated harm. This move raises concerns about potential government overreach or "jawboning," where informal pressure is applied on tech companies to limit legal speech.
