Meta Rolls Out Parental Controls for Teen–AI Conversations

Meta will introduce parental controls early next year to manage teenagers’ interactions with AI chatbots, allowing parents to disable all chats, block individual bots, and view topic insights (but not full transcripts). However, Meta’s AI assistant will remain active with built-in age-appropriate protections. The move addresses rising concerns over AI’s impact on youth, especially since over 70% of teens use AI companions and many do so frequently.
