Meta to Shutdown Facebook Messenger Desktop and Web Apps
Meta has announced the discontinuation of the standalone Messenger desktop application and the messenger.com website starting April 2026. Users will no longer be able to access these dedicated platforms for messaging, as the company moves to consolidate its communication services. After the shutdown, users must rely on the integrated chat features within the main Facebook website or the mobile application to stay connected.
