Microsoft Bets on AI-Designed Quantum Leap by 2029

Microsoft has unveiled Majorana 2, a new quantum computing chip developed with the help of AI-driven materials research. The company says the chip delivers major reliability improvements over its predecessor and accelerates its roadmap toward commercially useful quantum computers by 2029. The announcement places Microsoft alongside rivals such as IBM in the race to build practical quantum systems capable of solving complex problems beyond the reach of today’s computers.
