Microsoft launches Arm-based Azure virtual machines with Ampere chips
<p>The Ampere Altra, an Arm-based CPU, is now generally available on Azure, as per a statement from Microsoft. They are currently available in ten Azure locations and will be available starting on September 1 for use in Kubernetes clusters managed by the Azure Kubernetes Service. The Azure Arm-based VMs include SSD local and attachable storage in addition to up to 64 virtual CPU cores, 8 GB of memory per core, and 40 Gbps of networking speed.</p>
