Microsoft Rolls Out MAI-Voice-1 and MAI-1-preview: A New AI Era
Microsoft has unveiled its first in-house AI models: MAI-Voice-1, an ultra-fast speech generator that delivers a minute of audio in under a second using just one GPU, and MAI-1-preview, a language model trained on about 15,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs for responsive, everyday conversational tasks. Already integrated into Copilot features and available for public testing on platforms like Copilot Labs and LMArena, these launches signal Microsoft’s push toward consumer-focused AI independence.
