Ministry of External Affairs to introduce E-passport

<p>Microchip-based e-passports will be soon introduced in India. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the passports will use RFID and biometrics. The new e-passport will be as per the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, according to the Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs, Sanjay Bhattacharya. Its security features include a jacket that contains an electronic chip with important data encoded on it. </p>
