Misguided by Google Maps: Van Plunges into Banas River, 4 Dead

A tragic incident in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district occurred when a family van, guided by Google Maps, drove onto the closed Sompi-Upreda bridge over the Banas River around 1 a.m. Following heavy dam release, the swollen currents swept the vehicle away. Five passengers escaped by climbing onto the roof, but four others drowned — including two women and their children — and one child remains missing.
