OpenAI Challenges Chrome with New 'Atlas' AI Browser

OpenAI launched its web browser, Atlas, directly challenging Google Chrome. The move aims to monetize its popular ChatGPT service and capture search-related ad revenue by making the AI chatbot the internet's gateway. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman sees Atlas, which features an "agent mode" for autonomous browsing, as a "once-a-decade opportunity" to redefine the browser experience.
