OpenAI Seeks Tax Breaks for AI Infrastructure
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman urged the US government to expand the Chips Act's Advanced Manufacturing Investment Credit (AMIC). He requested the federal tax credit, originally for domestic semiconductor production, be extended to cover AI server production, data centers, and grid components. Altman emphasized this move would promote US re-industrialization and bolster America's position as a global leader in AI.
