OpenAI’s Sora App Nearly Matches ChatGPT Launch With Massive First-Week Downloads
OpenAI’s video creation app Sora achieved around 627,000 iOS downloads in its first week, coming very close to ChatGPT’s launch performance of 606,000 downloads. Despite being invite-only and limited to users in the U.S. and Canada, Sora generated strong traction, with about 96% of downloads estimated from the U.S. The impressive debut highlights growing user interest in AI-powered video generation tools.
