Parliament Panel Summons Google, Meta & X Over Soaring Cyber Crimes Against Women
In its 11th sitting, the Parliamentary Committee on Empowerment of Women will convene on August 19 with representatives from MeitY and social media giants—Google (YouTube), Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), and X—to address the escalating issue of cyber crimes targeting women. The session will examine platform policies on online harassment, stalking, and misuse, and probe their content moderation practices and coordination with law enforcement.
