Perplexity AI Eyes Mobile Dominance by Pre-Installing Comet AI Browser with OEMs
Perplexity AI, backed by Nvidia, is in talks with mobile device manufacturers—including Apple and Samsung—to pre-install its Comet AI browser on smartphones. Now in desktop beta, Comet integrates agentic AI features such as personal data queries, task automation, and multi-tab workflows directly into the browsing experience. CEO Aravind Srinivas aims to leverage default-browser stickiness to scale from hundreds of thousands of testers to tens or hundreds of millions of users by next year.
