PrismML Unveils Tiny AI Models That Could Bring Advanced AI to PCs and Phones

PrismML released Bonsai 2 27B, a compressed reasoning model that shrinks Qwen3.8 27B to just 5.9 GB while retaining about 98% of its benchmark performance. The startup uses “ternary” weights to dramatically reduce model size, aiming to make capable AI run locally on PCs and smartphones with greater privacy and less reliance on cloud computing
