Reddit's User Growth Falls Short Amid Google Algorithm Changes; Shares Decline

In Q4 2024, Reddit's daily active unique visitors increased by 39% to 101.7 million, missing analysts' expectations of 103.3 million. The shortfall is attributed to a Google search algorithm change affecting "logged-out users." Despite a 71% revenue rise to $427.7 million, Reddit's shares dropped 15% in extended trading. CEO Steve Huffman noted that search traffic has rebounded in Q1 2025.
