Rodney Brooks Warns Investors: Billions in Humanoid Robots Are a Waste
Rodney Brooks, co-founder of iRobot, cautioned investors against pouring billions into humanoid robot startups, labeling such investments as "a waste of money." He criticized companies like Tesla and Figure for unrealistic approaches, such as teaching robots dexterity through human task videos. Brooks emphasized that no robot has matched the complexity of the human hand, which has approximately 17,000 specialized touch receptors.
