Serial Spyware Founder Scott Zuckerman Petitions FTC for Industry Re-Entry

Scott Zuckerman, banned by the FTC in 2021 for operating spyware firm SpyFone that leaked personal data, has petitioned the agency to lift or modify the ban. He argues that ongoing compliance costs hinder his other businesses. Privacy advocates oppose, citing a continuous SpyTrac operation post-ban and his breach history. The FTC is accepting public comments until August 19 before deciding.
