US Indicts Smugglers Over Restricted Nvidia AI Chip Exports to China
The US Justice Department charged four individuals—two American and two Chinese nationals—for illegally exporting restricted Nvidia AI chips, including A100s, H100s, and 50 H200 GPUs, to China. The suspects used a sham real estate company and false paperwork to funnel the chips, valued at nearly $4 million, through Malaysia and Thailand to circumvent US export controls.
