U.S. Senator Tom Cotton Questions Intel CEO’s China Ties Amid National Security Concerns
U.S. Senator Tom Cotton has sent a letter to Intel board chair Frank Yeary scrutinizing CEO Lip‑Bu Tan's investments in Chinese technology firms, including entities allegedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party and People’s Liberation Army. Cotton also referenced a criminal case tied to Tan’s former company, Cadence Design, and asked whether Intel required Tan to divest those holdings prior to hiring. Intel affirmed its national security commitment and pledged to respond.
