U.S. Silicon Surge: SK Hynix Unit Solidigm Weighs New York Chip Plant

Solidigm, the U.S. subsidiary of South Korea's SK Hynix, is considering building a NAND flash memory chip factory in upstate New York. Driven by escalating AI data center demand and pressure to expand U.S. semiconductor manufacturing, the potential facility would operate independently of SK Hynix's separate manufacturing discussions with Intel in Ohio.
