WhatsApp Screen Mirroring Scam Can Empty Your Bank Account

Scammers are exploiting WhatsApp’s screen-sharing feature in a new "screen mirroring" fraud: they impersonate trusted officials and trick users into joining a video call or sharing their screen. Once granted access, fraudsters can capture sensitive data like OTPs, UPI PINs, and passwords—enabling unauthorized bank withdrawals or digital wallet breaches. They may even install malicious apps or keyloggers to harvest further details. Experts advise against sharing screens & urge verifying callers.
