Zomato to Share Customer Data with Restaurants, Ending Dispute
Zomato is in final talks with the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI) to share customer phone numbers—with consent—for marketing and promotional updates. This pivotal move aims to resolve a nearly decade-long dispute over data masking and high commissions, allowing restaurants to understand customer habits. Rival food delivery platform Swiggy is also engaging in similar discussions with the NRAI.
