eBay and Etsy Navigate Tariff Challenges with Local Sourcing and Secondhand Appeal

Despite escalating U.S. tariffs on imports from China and other countries, eBay and Etsy remain relatively insulated due to their business models emphasizing local sourcing and secondhand goods. eBay reports that imports from China account for less than 10% of its gross merchandise value, while Etsy notes that only about 1% of its sales involve U.S. imports from Chinese sellers. Etsy's CEO, Josh Silverman, highlighted that 90% of their sellers source supplies domestically.
