Origin Washing Probe: Unimicron Raided Over Mislabeled Chinese Circuit Boards

Taiwan prosecutors searched two offices of major printed circuit board maker Unimicron Technology and questioned 18 individuals over allegations of false labeling. The company is suspected of shipping China-manufactured circuit boards back to Taiwan and disguising them as local products to exploit preferential tariffs—a practice targeted in Taiwan’s crackdown on "origin washing." Unimicron pledged full cooperation with authorities.
