Google Backs Carbon Capture Gas Power for AI

Google has signed a deal to buy power for its Midwest AI data centers from a new natural-gas-fired plant in Illinois. The facility, set to be operational by 2030, will feature carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology designed to trap about 90% of its CO2 emissions. This pioneering U.S. corporate pact aims to balance the immense energy demand of AI with Google's climate goals.
