Google Slashes AI Plus Price, Intensifying U.S. AI Subscription Battle

Google has cut the monthly price of Google AI Plus from $7.99 to $4.99 in the U.S. while doubling storage from 200GB to 400GB. The plan includes Gemini AI tools, video generation, Google Flow, and NotebookLM. The move is a sign that AI services are entering a price-war phase, with infrastructure becoming increasingly commoditised. Earlier in India, Google and OpenAI launched low-cost plans. The pressure could challenge premium valuations for companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.
