Microsoft Pulls Back: Tech Giant Opts Out of Multibillion-Dollar Texas AI Data Center Expansion

Microsoft has decided not to exercise its option to expand a major AI data center lease agreement with UK-based infrastructure provider Nscale in Texas. Walking away from potentially tens of billions of dollars in additional computing capacity, Microsoft will keep its baseline lease intact, leaving Nscale to market the remaining capacity to other major tech clients.
