Musk’s xAI Sues Ex-Engineer for Allegedly Taking Grok Secrets to OpenAI
Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI has filed a lawsuit in California federal court against former engineer Xuechen Li, accusing him of stealing trade secrets from its Grok chatbot and taking them to OpenAI. The complaint alleges Li sold $7 million in xAI stock, admitted to transferring confidential files in July, and attempted to conceal the act. xAI is seeking monetary damages and a restraining order to block his move to OpenAI.
