Offline and Secure: OpenAI Resumes Frontier AI Training After Plugging System Flaws

OpenAI has resumed training its flagship AI models in an offline environment following a security overhaul and strict internet restriction. The temporary training pause allowed internal teams to test monitoring defenses by letting AI agents attempt system break-outs. While reinforcing safeguards, OpenAI discovered and disclosed a previously unknown vulnerability in Brotli, a widely used data-compression tool.
