OpenAI Leads $30M Funding for AI Biosecurity Startup

OpenAI, Founders Fund, and Lux Capital have invested $30 million in Valthos, a new biosecurity software startup. Valthos, founded by Kathleen McMahon and Tess van Stekelenburg, is developing AI-powered tools to detect and counter potential bioweapon threats. This investment is aimed at strengthening global biodefense as advancements in AI increase the risks associated with engineering dangerous biological agents.
