The campaign deployed two clusters: "Data Center Bandwagon," which blamed US AI data centers for rising electricity prices, and another attacking Western tariffs. Posing as ordinary citizens using VPNs and simplified Chinese prompts, the actors targeted social media users. However, OpenAI confirmed the operations failed to gain meaningful viral traction.
