95% of AI Deployments Yield No Measurable Financial Return
A recent MIT study—The GenAI Divide: State of AI in Business 2025—revealed that 95% of enterprises see zero ROI from generative AI projects, despite global investments of $30–40 billion. Only 5% of pilot programs deliver measurable value, largely when focused on specific problems or using external vendor tools. Failures were largely attributed to poor integration with business workflows, misaligned priorities, and insufficient workforce adaptation.
