US Considers ‘Chips for Investment’ Rule: AI Exports May Depend on Data Center Deals

U.S. officials are considering new rules for exporting advanced AI chips. Countries requesting large shipments (200,000+ chips) may need to invest in U.S. AI data centers or offer security guarantees.
