Stepping Up: EV Maker XPeng's Chief Takes Reins of Robot Arm on Eve of Mass Production
By TechShots Studio

XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng has taken personal control of the company’s robotics unit, effective immediately. The leadership reshuffle follows the departure of senior director Shi Xiaoxin and comes as the Chinese electric vehicle maker accelerates toward the end-of-2026 mass production deadline for its "Iron" humanoid robots. XPeng plans to trial the bipedal machines as shopping assistants in retail stores by early 2027 before expanding deliveries to global commercial customers.
