Ather Energy Narrows Gap with Ola Electric as EV Sales Slump Amid Rare Earth Magnet Crunch
Ola Electric’s market share in India’s electric two-wheeler sector fell from 19.9% in June to 17.2%, allowing Ather Energy to close in with 13,187 units and a 16.5% share—just 526 units behind. The industry-wide sales decline stems from China’s rare earth magnet export restrictions, affecting production at Ola’s peers like Ather, Bajaj Auto, and TVS, while Ola remains insulated thanks to inventory reserves.
