Australia Sues Microsoft Over 'Misleading' Copilot AI Offer

Australia's competition watchdog, the ACCC, has sued Microsoft, accusing it of misleading around 2.7 million Microsoft 365 auto-renewal subscribers. The suit alleges Microsoft offered a false choice between paying extra for the new Copilot AI plan or cancelling, while deliberately hiding the option to retain the cheaper, original "Classic" plan without the AI assistant until users initiated cancellation.
