The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a formal antitrust investigation into eBay’s $1.2 billion acquisition of fashion resale platform Depop from Etsy. The watchdog is evaluating whether the merger will significantly lessen marketplace competition, harm British consumers, or drive up seller fees, particularly within the fast-growing Gen Z and Millennial secondhand clothing sectors.
