Google Discontinues Nest Protect and Nest x Yale Lock, Announces Replacements

Google has announced the discontinuation of its Nest Protect Smart Smoke and CO Alarm and the Nest x Yale Smart Door Lock. To fill this gap, Google is collaborating with First Alert to introduce the First Alert Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm later this year, priced at $129. Additionally, a new Yale Smart Lock with Matter support will be available this summer for $170, compatible with multiple smart home ecosystems.
