US consumers who won a $425 million jury verdict against Google are now seeking an additional $2.36 billion in forfeited profits. The consumers allege this amount is a "conservative approximation" of gains from Google's secret collection of app activity data from millions of users who had disabled account tracking. The court must now decide if this profit disgorgement is permitted, while Google maintains its innocence and plans to appeal.
