India Unveils $20 Billion Plan to Attract Global Chipmakers

India is preparing a $20 billion incentive program to bolster its semiconductor industry, aiming to attract global and domestic chipmakers. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has identified four key focus areas: chip design, semiconductor components, new materials, and establishing the nation's first display fabrication unit.
