India’s Offgrid Raises $15M to Offer ZincGel as Lithium Alternative
Deep-tech startup Offgrid Energy Labs, incubated at IIT Kanpur, has raised $15 million in Series A funding to advance its ZincGel battery—a zinc-bromine-based system that delivers 80–90% of lithium-ion efficiency at significantly lower storage costs. Designed for grid-scale energy storage, ZincGel offers enhanced fire safety, longer discharge cycles (6–12 hours), and twice the lifespan of lithium batteries.
