Nvidia Supplier SK Hynix to Boost AI Chip Spending After Record Q2 Profit
SK Hynix, a key supplier of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips for Nvidia, reported record Q2 operating profit of ₩9.2 trillion (~US $6.7 billion)—a 69% year-on-year jump with revenue up 35% to ₩22.2 trillion ($16.1 billion). Riding robust AI demand and client stockpiling, the company plans to increase its 2025 capital expenditure, primarily for advanced HBM tooling, and expects to double HBM chip sales this year.
