Nokia and ICEYE have partnered to develop sovereign low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications systems tailored for defense and security operations. Targeting initial launches by 2028, the collaboration aims to provide governments with fully controllable satellites, ground segments, and ruggedized terminals. The secure networks will ensure high-throughput, low-latency connectivity for military missions and disaster response when terrestrial networks fail.
