Palantir Defends $30M ICE Contract Amid Surveillance Criticism
Palantir's global head of commercial, Ted Mabrey, defended the company's $30 million contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to develop the Immigration Lifecycle Operating System (ImmigrationOS). This system aims to assist ICE in identifying deportation targets and monitoring self-deportations. The defense came after Y Combinator founder Paul Graham criticized Palantir's involvement, suggesting that top programmers should avoid contributing.
