PayPal Launches “PayPal World” to Connect UPI, WeChat Pay & Venmo for 2B Users
PayPal has unveiled PayPal World, a global cross-border payments platform launching later in 2025. In partnership with India’s UPI, China’s Tenpay/WeChat Pay, Venmo, and Mercado Pago, the interoperable system lets users transact internationally using their domestic wallets. Consumers can shop or send money abroad without new accounts, while merchants automatically accept multiple wallet options without extra integration. The initiative spans nearly 2 billion users worldwide.
