Regulators Clear OpenAI to Restructure and Deepen Microsoft Ties
OpenAI has reorganized its ownership, converting to a public benefit corporation after regulators in Delaware and California cleared the plan. This decision allows the AI company to pursue its new structure and deepen its partnership with Microsoft, which now holds a roughly 27% stake in the for-profit entity. CEO Sam Altman indicated a stock market debut is the most likely path forward.
